Also join the Junior Board of One Roof during National Homeless Awareness Week as we host our own “Restaurant Week” to help bring awareness to homelessness in Birmingham and continue the conversation on ways our community can help. We are raising money to help offset the costs of providing homeless clients with state IDs which help get them shelter, medical attention, and other benefits as needed.

THE ISSUE
On any given night in greater Birmingham, 110 young people are forced to spend the night on the streets or in emergency shelter. Many of these young people lack support from family, friends, and community. A large number have aged out of foster care with no safety and ended up with nowhere to call home. One Roof and our partner agencies are working hard to understand and solve the issues that lead to youth homelessness. Now is your chance to get involved and to help make our community a place where young people don’t have to experience homelessness.
