Youth Advisory Council

With youth homelessness on the rise throughout the nation, One Roof works with our Youth Advisory Council to better understand the systemic causes of youth homelessness and the special needs of youth experiencing homelessness. The Youth Advisory Council is a group of formerly homeless and currently homeless youth ages 18-24 who meet on a bi-weekly basis to discuss issues surrounding youth homelessness. The Youth Advisory Council will also work to help our homeless Continuum of Care and greater community understand youth homelessness and develop innovative solutions to youth homelessness.

The focus areas of the Youth Advisory Council include:

  • Recruiting other homeless or formerly homeless youth to join the Youth Advisory Council.
  • Educating the community about youth homelessness.
  • Providing input in the development of programs dedicated to serving homeless youth.
