Our Mission
One Roof’s mission is to equip and empower our community to prevent and end homelessness through advocacy, education, and coordination of services.
WHY WE EXIST
The vision for the One Roof Continuum of Care is for all community members to be appropriately, safely, and decently housed. Our goal is to connect individuals and families to appropriate resources related to their housing and service needs. One Roof serves as the US Department of Housing and Urban Development’s (HUD) homeless Continuum of Care (CoC) for Jefferson, St. Clair, and Shelby Counties.
One Roof is the coordinating agency for the homeless Continuum of Care of central Alabama. As a continuum organization, One Roof is responsible for submitting central Alabama’s collaborative application through HUD’s Continuum of Care program, providing nearly $10 million in supportive housing programming for individuals and families experiencing homelessness.
WHAT WE DO
We lead the community by connecting and collaborating with others to strengthen the continuum of services that address the challenges of homelessness, from street outreach to long-term housing.
