What is The Continuum of Care
The Central Alabama Continuum of Care (AL-500) is a coalition of 68 and growing organizations collaborating to provide housing, supportive services and community resources to individuals and families experiencing or at risk of homelessness. One Roof leads and supports the CoC to end and prevent homelessness.
The Value of CoC Membership
Membership in the CoC ensures community-wide commitment to preventing and ending homelessness in Central Alabama. Membership is always open and is currently a growing continuum of 68 partner organizations working together. Membership diversity is important to include the perspectives and opinions of our community towards homelessness solutions.

The homeless Continuum of Care involves various stakeholders working together to address homelessness, these stakeholders include:
Government agencies, nonprofit organizations, healthcare providers, housing providers, law enforcement, community and faith-based organization, businesses, volunteers advocates and persons with lived experience.
Each stakeholder is vital in creating a comprehensive support network to prevent and end homelessness.

The Continuum of Care offers members substantial benefits, including professional development through specialized training, practical learning via workshops, enhanced community and public awareness, greater access to funding opportunities, and the use of advanced tools like PromisSE for efficient data management and performance monitoring. These advantages collectively contribute to the improved delivery of care services and better outcomes for the communities served.

Anyone interested in ending homelessness is encouraged to attend One Roof's monthly membership meetings. Formal, paid membership is not required to attend, but is needed to vote on any issue.
One Roof members are not required to participate in funding opportunities like CoC or ESG programs. However, if a member chooses to apply for these funds, specific requirements must be met.
CoC Funded Member Requirements
Service providers must be current on One Roof CoC membership dues.
Service providers must be active and engaged in the activities of the Continuum of Care.
Service providers must utilize the local Homeless Management Information System (HMIS), PromisSE.
Service providers receiving CoC and/or ESG program funding must participate in the centralized or coordinated assessment system.
